I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. My parents provided a summer home on a small lake in Southwestern Michigan for my six siblings and myself. It was cheaper than a vacation for a family of nine! I graduated early from high school and even attended a small junior college while I was in my last year of high school. From there I attended a few colleges looking for the right fit and the right degree. Once I decided on education, I was hooked at Illinois State University and graduated as a Redbird, summa cum laude. I helped my mother out after the death of my father and then eventually married and had two wonderful children. While staying home to raise them, I volunteered in their school activities and classes. After my divorce, I went back to teaching full time and have enjoyed the growth I have experienced as a teacher. I look forward to growing more as I complete my master's degree in Educational Technology at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
